During the second week of May, the Medieval Festival is celebrated in Ibiza, the most important recreational and cultural event of the Ibizan spring.
The historic site is transformed into a medieval market for 4 days with street vendors, noblemen, fakirs, snake charmers or minstrels during the Middle Ages. The entire walled enclosure of the old town is full of colour and atmosphere. Professional actors and musicians move us to another era.
The Fair and Medieval Festival of Ibiza is a tribute to the multicultural legacy and reminds us that Ibiza has managed to integrate different cultures while keeping alive its most rooted traditions.
It is the party with which the Eivissa City Council also celebrates the declaration, by UNESCO, of four natural and cultural elements of the island as a World Heritage Site.
Throughout the weekend, more than 150,000 people visit the markets and participate in various entertainment shows and activities. The most prominent are the medieval theatre, falconry, archery and Arab dances.

Choral music concerts are also organized in Dalt Vila’s churches, folklore exhibitions in the 16th-century cloister of the City Hall and other cultural shows.
The fair has consolidated over time as one of the most important events in Ibiza. In fact, not only attracts residents, but more and more people decide to take advantage of this event to visit the island. In short, it is a unique opportunity to get into the history of Ibiza and learn about the peculiarities of another era.
